India’s huge infrastructure program offers enormous scope for further growth.

Bengaluru, 18 May 2022 – Lintec & Linnhoff Holdings (LLH) and the Gainwell Commosales Private Limited  (formerly Tractors India Private Limited) have signed a strategic manufacturing and distribution partnership agreement to cement an even greater presence in the vibrant South Asian market today.

Gainwell’s manufacturing arm, Gainwell Engineering Pvt Ltd will be heading the licensed manufacturing of Linnhoff asphalt plants and Eurotec concrete plants. Gainwell will handle the distribution and servicing of Linnhoff asphalt and Eurotec concrete plants in India, Nepal and Bhutan. This will be backed up with end-to-end customer and technical support, including after-sales support, retrofit and refurbishment of plants, and the supply of spare parts and components.

This collaboration will bring in synergies of Gainwell, a leading player in the field of construction, mining and energy and transport sector and LLH, a global leader in asphalt and concrete batching plants. These two legacy organisations hold a rich experience in supporting nation-building through powerful and innovative solutions for the infrastructure industry.

Reaffirming LLH’s commitment to the Indian market, where over 500 of its plants have already been sold, the partnership with Gainwell seeks to leverage the success its brands have enjoyed over the past three decades. The new tie-up will deliver stronger brand and product offering to meet a diverse array of project needs. These will range from standard plants to more complex or customised solutions purposely designed for the domestic market. Through the collaboration, Gainwell and LLH will attract a new pool of customers while better serving existing clients.

Daniel Chan, Chairman of Lintec & Linnhoff Holdings Pte Ltd said:

“The Make in India local manufacturing initiative has been pivotal to our re-entry into the market, as we envisage scaling up the business with our perfect blend of high quality, local production based on the very best of European engineering design. Our commitment and investment in India reflects the confidence we have in this globally-important economy. Additionally, in the long-term, we plan on using India-based licensed manufacturing to support some of our regional customers, so finding a partner with a similar business ethos, as well as the capability and resources to meet our high standards in manufacturing and distribution, was a critical part of the selection process.”

Roadmap for success

With the allocation of INR 108,230 crore (US$14.85 billion) to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways from the Union Budget of 2021-2022 alone, and a likely US$350 billion investment in road infrastructure in the northeast of the country during 2020-2025, the huge potential for growth is evident.

In particular, special emphasis is being placed on the expansion and modernisation of India’s National Highways – accounting for just 2% of the 6.2 million km  ofnational road network while carrying over 40% of total traffic, the doubling of their length has long been a priority of the government. Therefore, following their 50% growth over the past seven years, another 25,000 km are planned during FY2022-2023, with a target of adding 100 km per day – triple the average daily distance achieved during FY2020-2021.

“By combining our world-leading German engineering know-how, quality and reliability with local manufacture and expertise, we are ideally placed to create unique machines that are perfectly suited to the needs of customers in India and the surrounding region,” concluded Daniel Chan. “We are confident that this strategic collaboration is merely the beginning of a long-term partnership providing robust, reliable and premium asphalt and concrete mixing plants that will greatly support India’s vital infrastructure development for many years to come.”
