Kunal Gajera, After Sales – Spare Parts and Technical Support Manager, Middle East & Africa
What is your name and role?
My name is Kunal Gajera, and I am the After Sales – Spare Parts and Technical Support Manager for the Middle East and Africa region at Lintec & Linnhoff.
What are your roles and responsibilities?
In my role, I oversee all after-sales service and spare parts support for our customers across the region. I handle customer inquiries, prepare quotations, and coordinate closely with our purchasing, logistics, and finance teams to ensure the correct parts are delivered punctually to reduce down time. I also provide technical support and troubleshooting, either remotely or via our service engineers on-site. Additionally, I collaborate with the sales team and management to maintain strong customer relationships. Ultimately, my responsibility is to keep our customers’ plants operating efficiently and to ensure they receive the best possible support.
What is your background, and how did you become an After Sales – Spare Parts Manager for the Middle East and Africa region?
I have been working in the asphalt and concrete batching plant industry for 24 years, so this industry is truly my passion. Over the years, I have gained experience in production, manufacturing, and sales, which has given me a deep understanding of the product and its lifecycle.
I joined Lintec & Linnhoff in 2019 as an Area Sales Manager for the Middle East and Africa. In 2022, the company recognised the growing importance of after-sales support and felt that my technical knowledge and customer-focused approach made me the right fit for the role. I transitioned into the After Sales – Spare Parts and Technical Support position, and it has been a natural and rewarding evolution in my career.

What is a typical day on the job as an After Sales – Spare Parts Manager?
My day usually begins with following up with customers to understand any requirements, challenges or technical issues they may be facing. From there, I work on preparing quotations, coordinating purchase orders, and organising deliveries with our internal teams. I am also heavily involved in managing technical support cases with our service engineers to resolve issues as quickly as possible. A typical day involves constant communication and collaboration with various departments and often requires quick decision-making and problem-solving. While no two days are the same, my goal every day is to ensure smooth operations and satisfied customers.
What has been one of the most memorable projects during your time with the company?
One standout project was restoring a Lintec CSD Containerised Asphalt Plant in Ethiopia. Although the plant wasn’t originally sold by us and had been heavily used, we successfully brought it back to full operation. This complex, months-long effort showcased our team’s technical expertise and dedication. Today, that customer remains one of our most loyal clients. This experience was a great example of our commitment to long-term support and customer success. Other memorable projects include CSD3000 in Qatar, TSD1500 in Oman and CMX1500 in Nigeria.
What keeps you passionate about the job?
What keeps me passionate is my genuine love for the work that I do. I have worked with asphalt and concrete plants for 24 years, and I still enjoy learning and working with them every day. This is not just a job to me, it is something I truly care about. Another reason I stay motivated is the supportive and collaborative environment at Lintec & Linnhoff. The team and management are always helpful and cooperative, which makes it a pleasure to work at the company. When you love what you do and you are surrounded by good people, staying passionate comes naturally.

What do you hope to achieve in the coming years at Lintec & Linnhoff?
My main goal is to continue contributing to the growth of the company. I believe that when the company grows, employees grow with it. I want to keep delivering excellent service and results, and I trust the management team to place me where I can add the most value. In the long term, I hope to see Lintec & Linnhoff become the market leader in the region, and I am committed to playing my part in achieving that success.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
When I am not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. Living in Oman gives me access to beautiful beaches, parks, and the breathtaking landscapes, so I like to go out and relax at these places. When I am at home, I enjoy watching movies and TV series. I mostly prefer Hindi shows, but I also watch English shows. If the story is interesting, I’m happy to watch it.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career as an After Sales – Spare Parts Manager?
This is a very dynamic and rewarding career for someone who enjoys working with people and solving problems. In this role, you interact with many different departments such as purchasing, logistics, finance, and service, and you also work with a wide range of customer contacts from site operators to plant managers, finance teams, and even business owners.
The role provides the opportunity to learn about technical support, pricing, finance, negotiation, and customer relationship management, so it is a role that teaches you something new every day. It can be challenging at times, but if you are passionate, adaptable, and have strong interpersonal skills, it is a highly fulfilling career with great growth opportunities. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys teamwork, variety, and making a real impact.
